The Beginning – Around The World

Life is either a Daring Adventure or nothing! Quote by Helen Keller. There were 1,000 reasons why we should not do this, but those 8 words were enough to convince us we should!

This is the first in the series of Trip Notes, revisiting our adventures around the world beginning in June, 2007. It started out as only a six month journey, but when the travel bug bites, it’s hard to find a cure.

When all the stars align, it is not a good idea to ignore the impulse – Right? Well, that is where we were at. It seemed like all things were falling into place to make this adventure happen. Cheryl-40 years old- leaving her job of 16 years as a corporate director. Lisa- 44 years old- a pharmacist and writer, always ready to check out something new and exciting.

The possibilities were endless.. Backpacking through Europe.. What is a hostel anyway? Munich for Oktoberfest? Volunteering in Mexico, Africa, Seychelles! What a great way to see the world! Who knows what else awaits the GREAT ADVENTURERS?

Please, join us on the journey! We promise to share the highs, lows, and laughter along the way! See you on the road!

Well Over-Packed Backpacks!

Well Over-Packed Backpacks!

We started out with nothing but our (overstuffed) backpacks, a purple octopus named Priscilla, and an extraordinary thirst for adventure. Looking back, we’ve been fortunate to see and experience so many amazing sights and meet extraordinary people. Come with us as we re-visit our trip around the world!
