Four Points Sheraton in Punta Gorda Surrounded by Palm Trees

During our recent trip to Punta Gorda we were hosted by the Four Points by Sheraton Punta Gorda Harborside hotel.  The hotel is located in such a perfect, central spot to all the sites you want to explore during a stay in Punta Gorda.

Water, water everywhere!

Nestled where Charlotte Harbor meets the Peace River, the location of the hotel provides amazing water front access.  The  3 mile Harborwalk pathway is right outside of the hotel and can be used by bicyclists and walkers alike.  Speaking of bicycles, you can borrow a bicycle for free onsite compliments of  TEAM Punta Gorda who manages the free loaner program.   Just a short stroll (about 1 mile) down the path from the hotel you will find the Fishermen’s Village where you can dine, shop, or even hop on a boat tour with the King Fisher Fleet.

 Guitars and Tiki Bars

Yes, the hotel offers this too!  Take a break from exploring and grab an Adirondack chair at the tiki bar.  You can listen to some great music, enjoy a nice cold drink and relax with your feet in the sand watching the boats sail on by.  Can you hear the steel drums yet?

The Tiki bar at Four Points Sheraton provides a great view as you enjoy a nice cocktail!

The REAL Fountain of Youth?

The historic center of Punta Gorda can all be reached within a 15 minute walk from the hotel as well. On your way to visit the town center, you can stop by the REAL Fountain of Youth – or so proclaimed by the residents of the area. To this day local folks will head down to the fountain and fill up containers of the slightly radioactive water.

Sites All Around Town

There are so many wonderful places to visit in Punta Gorda and surrounding Charlotte Harbor.  With weekend Farmers Markets, beautiful Town Murals, and of course great seafood there is plenty to see and do.

We were recently hosted by the Charlotte Harbor Visitor & Convention Bureau to explore the quaint area of Punta Gorda.  The hotel stay was included as part of that trip but as always our review and opinions shared here are our own.
